Real OCR Obstacles, Real OCR Terrain, Real OCR Mud, Real OCR Fitness!

ONE OF THE FIRST OF ITS KIND

Designed for OCR and Fitness

Over the last four or five years Obstacle Course Running (OCR) has become more of a household name, with the events attracting larger numbers than ever before. But bespoke training for these “assault course” events has up until now been difficult to replicate. Your normal training run, even a trail run, doesn’t generally incorporate many walls, monkey bars, A-frames, crawl unders, rope climbs, mud filled ditches and water crossings.

At the Obstacle Gym the experienced design team have put together a course that ticks all these training boxes. The one kilometre course set in the quiet Leicestershire woods in Shawell, offers more than just tricky trail running terrain, but also includes 30 obstacles that take you from a belly crawl right up high on balance beams, walls, ropes and A-frames. Obstacles range from wet to dry and there is always mud on the course.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are there toilets and changing rooms on site?

Yes you will be pleased to know that despite the fact we are in the woods, there are toilets and changing areas and an area to wash off your legs and trainers..

What should I wear?

Leggings or shorts, socks that cover the back of your ankles (for ropework) and gloves (for ropework). Trail running shoes provide the best traction on the terrain and the obstacles.

Do I need to bring ID?

No you don’t need to bring ID. When you arrive we will ask you to read and sign a waiver before we take you on your induction.

Can children use the obstacle gym?

Children from the age of 8 can use the gym provided they are accompanied by an adult at all times.

Is there anything else I should bring

We recommend you bring a dry change of clothing, a towel, and bin bag for all your dirty stuff.
